I am adding a new option for our puppy families to add a training package to their puppy purchase as a way to get a focused, individual head start on basic obedience training, socialization, and good manners. This is completely optional, and currently only available for Origins puppy buyers immediately following the “pick up date”. Families who opt-in for this package will delay pickup for 4-6 weeks while their puppy has daily obedience training, crate and potty training, positive car experiences and safe outings for socialization (observations, sound/sight exposure) and loose leash walking. Puppies will learn sit, down, place, and recall, be introduced to heel/loose leash walking, and get a head-start on behaviors they will learn in beginner obedience, S.T.A.R. Puppy, and CGC classes. These costs can be added onto the total puppy price, but training must be discussed prior to go-home day.
Packages & Pricing
- Four Week Board & Train: $400.00
Puppies enrolling in the four week program may start immediately at eight weeks, but must start by 10 weeks (if puppy goes home before starting training.) Your puppy will begin learning good manners in the house, potty training, crate training, and basic obedience including “place”, sit, down, stay, & recall. Puppies will go on at least two outings or “field trips” per week for safe socialization. Puppies will also receive their second set of vaccines at 10 weeks.
- Six Week Board & Train: $550.00
Puppies enrolling in the six week program may start immediately at eight weeks, but must start by 10 weeks (if puppy goes home before starting training.) Your puppy will begin and continue learning good manners in the house, potty training, crate training, and basic obedience including “place”, sit, down, stay, & recall. Puppies will go on at least two outings or “field trips” per week for safe socialization. Puppies will receive their second set of vaccines at 10 weeks.
These prices are discounted especially for Origins families and are only available at this cost for puppies who begin training within two weeks, or fourteen days, of “go-home day”. Fees will be due on the scheduled “go-home day” for puppies starting training immediately (not leaving the premises), and a refundable deposit of $200 will be due on “go-home day” for puppies leaving with the family and returning at a later date to begin training (within two weeks / 14 days of going home).
A note about expectations: Puppies are individuals and they go through several stages of development as they grow. The behaviors they learn in puppyhood set them up for adulthood in a major way, but please remember that with adolescence can come a regression. Training should continue when puppies go home, and families will receive a handout on behaviors that we worked on as well as a “report card”. Please also keep in mind that puppies will need to adjust to your home and routine will be very important for their crate & potty training as they settle in. Please do not hesitate to ask about specific training methods and expectations. Do not expect puppies to be fully potty trained until 12-16 weeks of age, but be very consistent and diligent in setting them up for success.
